Okay, this is the 1st of my blogs, not quite sure how this works, so here goes......was invited to make a snowflake for the momentary art projects Christmas display, most will be made from recycled paper and plastic, but that's not my bag, and anyway they burn when welded! so I made the one on the left, it was meant to have 6 sides but I didn't have enough matching bits so I settled on 5 sides, looks a bit like a star with stuff sticking out. It wasn't too hard to mock up I just marked it out on some scrap steel with my protractor, then I welded in the centre which is [art of an oil pump, the star shape is known as a trocoid. I then welded on the valves and small cogs from bicycle gears. Blasted it with glass bead, gave it a light spraying with silver and then lacquered. Posted it on my Facebook page (mech'art), it became quite popular with my likers, so I decided today to make another similar, this one for now is still for sale, I may make another but I'm really short on bits. Not my usual thing but I'll have a crack at anything that's makeable.....I'm going to try and keep this blog up , maybe daily but that depends on if I have done anything.....thanks page viewers..... Roy......

Roy, your explanation makes it sound such a simple process, I know that I could never be that creative, ever. Your talent is obvious, keep it up

thanks, they both have gone to new brighton for the xmas exhibition, that's as long as the MAP unit hasn't washed away with the flood they had today, behind the units was under about 4 feet of sea water....
